Findings

The Quit Pack Program has shown promising results in its feasibility study. Key findings include:

- High acceptability among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who smoke

- Increased quit attempts among participants

- Improved access to smoking cessation support, especially in remote areas.

- Positive feedback on the cultural appropriateness of the materials

Success

The Quit Pack Program has demonstrated significant success in several areas:

  • Reached a wide audience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who smoke

  • Provided culturally safe and accessible smoking or vaping cessation support

  • Contributed to the limited evidence base for effective smoking or vaping cessation strategies for Indigenous peoples

  • Showed potential for scalability and implementation in various settings

  • Empowered participants to take control of their smoking cessation journey

  • These successes have paved the way for our national rollout, which could significantly impact smoking rates among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.
